Casy, Zeke, and I hit Hickory Grove Saturday night to see about getting some gills in the boat. We launched from the south ramp and the first boat we see is that of Oldbear heading in. He had a pretty good bucket of fish, gave us a good tip and headed to the ramp. Always good to see the Mayor of Hickory Grove
got the poles baited and started fishing. Didn't take long to start putting fish in the boat. We were using leeches under a slip bobber. Had to sort through the 7&8" gills but the jumbo's were in there and we put our fair share in the live-well. Wish I would have had the camera as all three of us caught some real nice ones. also caught some of the biggest greenies I've ever seen. No real big bass but some of them were landed too.
Always fun to fish with those two and it's even better when the fish are biting. The laughs come often when the three of us fish together and I'm lucky to count those two as true friends.
I was amazed that there was only one other boat on the water after oldbear left. "Hey look, they have lights on that boat!"
